We have a similar process at our school. What we don’t have is the role of working with local police and counselors. This is a great step for communication and is something that I want to try to add into the school. I think now a days rumors spread so quickly so it is important that lines of communication happen and parents and students know and understand what is going on. How do you think that process is best worked? Do we send out a mass email to families making sure they are aware of the situation? Have a comprehensive crisis communication plan in place and make staff, students, and parents/families aware there is plan for keeping everyone informed during an emergency.
