7) We have a solid sample contains sodium carbonate (Na:CO:), sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO:) and sodium chloride (NaCD). In order to measure the percentage of each. 0.982 g of this sample is dissolved in sufficient amount of water to get 250.0 ml solution. The following titrations are performed: (a) 10.00 ml of this solution is titrated by HC1 0.020 M using phenolphthalein. When purple color is disappeared. 11.00 ml hydrochloric acid is consumed, (b) Another 10:00 mL of this solution is titrated by HCI 0.020 M using methyl red. When yellow color turns red. 26.00 ml hydrochloric acid is consumed. (c) Assuming that the sample has made of only these three salts, calculate the percentage of each salt in the H.CO.: pKai = 6.35, pKaz = 10.33 Methyl red: red 4.8-6.0 yellow Phenolphthalein: pHy – 9
